Over 50 customers attended representing over 20 companies from OEM’s and Job Shops. The attendees were treated to lunch followed by a guided tour through the plant that detailed the metal finishing process. Those who attended went through the polishing, buffing and degreasing processes. They viewed the automated plating lines from the operators view point, seeing first hand how products go through pretreatment and cleaning, then the many plating options which include Zincating, Electroless Nickel, Sulfamate Nickel, Copper, Duplex, Bright, Satin, and Woods Nickel and Chrome plating options. They visited the lab where all chemistry is tested, verified for use and tracked on a very extensive system. Attendees then proceeded to the classroom and learned about the cost drivers involved in the metal finishing process, quote requirements, process and metal selection and much more.
Those who attended were very grateful for the experience and the RPW/Elite employees received many notes of thanks. Everyone left happy, more informed and with a memory stick which contained the presentation and several support articles that they will be able to reference in the future.
